In September 2018, Derrick took his experience from the entertainment industry and became the  backstage interviewer for the World Famous Monster Factory. The Monster Factory Training Center with lineage going back to the early 1980s was owned by the late "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe. There are multiple Monster Factory graduates who have wrestled for companies such as WWF/WWE, WCW, ECW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring Of Honor and All Elite Wrestling.  Since 2011, The Monster Factory is owned and operated by head trainer and Monster Factory graduate Danny Cage.

Derrick has been a fan of the sport for over 35 years. Having followed many wrestling promotions in the United States and around the world, it was only a matter of time when he would get involved in the pro wrestling business. In January 2019, Danny promoted Derrick to ring announcer. You can catch him introducing the stars of The MFPW, ECWA and SWF Pro Wrestling as he patterns his style after announcers  such as the late Howard Finkel, Gary Michael Cappetta, Justin Roberts, Lilian Garcia and UFC's Bruce Buffer.
